Australia’s new subscription laws commence on 1 July 2027 and also apply to existing subscriptions that renew, extend or change after that date, so the year ahead is the time to get ready.
The checklist walks you through 15 practical checks across your sign-up flow, renewals and reminders, cancellation process and record-keeping. Any box you cannot tick is an action item, and the checklist tells you what good looks like for each one.
This is not intended to be a definitive list, and you should conduct your own research into your specific subscription arrangements and obtain independent legal advice. Many subscription terms also need review against the consumer guarantees and the unfair contract terms regime, which apply now, not from 2027.
